What exactly is LentMail EPS?
LentMail lets you create "disposable" email addresses by creating your own custom addresses easily and quickly, thereby protecting your personal email address. You can then give your disposable email addresses out to people or vendors. The correspondence back from them can then be completely controlled by you. You can turn responses off (without unsubscribing) if you’d like, after getting the promo or coupon you wanted. Later if you want to receive promo emails from that vendor, you can turn them back on. Or you can view them sorted by entity locally in LentMail. And if you want certain responses forwarded to your personal email, you can do that too, but the vendor will never know your personal email address. You’re protected.
Next time you are at The Gap and the sales person says "Give us your email for a discount", you can give them your "thegap@yourname.lentmail.com" address. It will work right away. LentMail will hold that address you invented on-the-fly for 24hrs, send you a reminder, and give you a chance to set it up in your LentMail account if you decide you want the incoming email. Creating an email on-the-fly is easy and fast. The format we use guarantees the address is available to you.

Why call it LentMail?
Your LentMails are "disposable" email addresses you create in our system. You choose what happens to the incoming responses. You can feel comfortable handing out these Lentmail addresses whenever you don’t want to share your "real" email addresses. Privacy and Protection.
Instead of “giving” out a valuable personal email address, we’re enabling you to “lend” one. You can turn it on or off as you wish anytime. Thus the name “LentMail.”
Anywhere you are signing up for something, or getting an electronic receipt, or someone wants your email -- give them a LentMail that you make just for them. Then you can track it, see what gets emailed from there, and WHO is emailing you to that address you gave them.
You can use generic LentMail addresses that you create to give to any third party, but for the most control, create a new LentMail each time you need to hand out an email address. Be specific for the place you are creating the LentMail. For example, "walgreen’s", "chasebank", "amex", and more. This way, they’ll be sorted by vendor, and you can see what they’re doing with your address.
Why should I use LentMail EPS?
A popular use for LentMail is its ability to track WHO is emailing you from WHAT place you gave an email address. Don't like what they are emailing you? Then disable that LentMail. You can always enable it again later if you want.
We encourage you to create a new LentMail for each time you need to hand out an email when you’re concerned about the recipient and what they might do with it. That way LentMail helps you know if a place sold or gave away (or had stolen) your email address. You could create "shopping", but you could also create "macys", "thegap", "saks", "target", and be more specific. This gives your great control.
With LentMail, you decide what you want to do with an incoming email. You can forward it to a real address of yours, or store it locally on our server and check whenever convenient.

Why not just use an alternate gmail, yahoo, or other separate address for free?

How might I use LentMail EPS?
Example: You‘re in a clothing store and they ask you for an email to send you a special sales offer in September. But you hesitate because you know this identity is going other places. And it’s only May. But you want the specials. No problem. You create nameofstore@yourname.lentmail.com. Then turn it off. No emails come. In August, you just flip it back on. Presto…now you’ll get the specials from the store, and in addition, see where your email was sold to by that vendor. It takes the guesswork out of how your “trusted” vendors are using your new identity. Now you can decide who to leave on and who to turn off. In addition, you can have them come locally just to your LentMail account, or forward them to any other email you want if you’d like to.
That’s control and privacy. Now it’s your choice. When have you what you want, just flip it off till next time.

Can I send an email from LentMail EPS, or is it just for receiving emails?
LentMail was intentionally built for receiving emails only. We believe in one basic principle: Keep it simple. LentMail was designed to provide you protection and privacy from those who you need to give out an address for some reason, but want to control and monitor their responses back to you, defeat the name selling, or just don’t want to be bothered by them, unless you say so.
We’re not competing with your “real” email system. We’re providing a barrier from the outside world that you control when you need to interact with them, and only if you want to.

How do I see my LentMails?
From our dashboard/homepage, you can view your LentMail addresses, and when you click one, you can then then easily DISABLE or ENABLE it. When they are disabled, no email comes through. Then, sometime later if you need it again, just enable it.
When someone (or some company) sends an email to one of your LentMail addresses, it will post in your LentMail account where you can read it, or you can have it forwarded to your personal email address if you’d like.
As a "new" email that you will receive forwarded "from" us -- it will be from "messages@lentmail.com" and the original email that you were sent from the vendor or whoever will be included.
You can reply to the email and it will reply to the original sender. But you should make sure the "reply" body has what you want in it.
